Julie has a rich past in many aspects of outdoor and environmental education. She has taught at Colorado College and Pikes Peak Community College in the environmental education departments and served as a Program Director of Pacific Crest Outward Bound.
In 1997, Julie Francis and Howard Drossman founded and incorporated Catamount Institute as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Their efforts and passion to develop an organization that inspires ecological stewardship came to life through Catamount Institute. Catamount Institute conducts science-based programs from it's 177 acre mountain campus on the north slope of Pikes Peak in Teller County and from Beidleman Environmental Center at Sondermann Park in Colorado Springs. |
