Jan Eitel was born in Denver and raised in Colorado Springs. After graduating from the Colorado Springs School, she attended the University of California at Santa Barbara. Jan returned to Colorado after college, where her passion had always been the outdoors and the natural environment where she grew up.
Jan began her nonprofit career nine years ago after a long career in the hotel and tourism business with The Broadmoor Hotel and Destination Services of Colorado. She became passionate about her work in the nonprofit sector when she started as the Coordinator of the STOP Family Violence Media Campaign for a local coalition to address the prevention of family violence. She continued to pursue other roles with nonprofit organizations serving in a variety of capacities, including special event coordination, fundraising, community outreach and conference planning. Throughout her time with nonprofits, Jan has worked closely with volunteers and understands the significant role they play in the success of a nonprofit organization.
