Description: Communications and Media Relations

Learn the basics in developing community and media relations strategies to promote the activities of a nonprofit organization.

Volunteer Goals:
  1. Work with the executive director, education director and the communications staff to develop public relations and marketing plans.
  2. Implement public relations and marketing plans, including: news release writing and distribution, developing program fliers and brochures, identifying distribution locations for promotional materials, conducting effective media relations.
Benefits:
  1. Earn school credit
  2. Work with experienced nonprofit professionals at Catamount Institute and gain skills in public relations and marketing.
Other volunteer opportunities include research, special projects and assisting with general office/operating tasks.
