Catamount Institute camps are designed for children of all ages. Please review the opposite side for program descriptions, date and time, price, and age requirements. Upon receipt of the registration form and deposit, parents will receive further instructions, information and a description of what each child will need to bring. Drop off and pick up will be at the Beidleman Environmental Center. Catamount Institute camps require a $50 non-refundable deposit (Peak Mountain Dyslexia Camp requires a $500 non-refundable deposit). The remaining balance is due 30 days prior the start of camp. Camp fees may be paid by credit card, check or cash. Reservations are filled on a first come, first served basis. All cancellations require two weeks notice. Any cancellation made within two weeks of the camp start date will result in the forfeiture of all camp fees. Please make checks payable to: Catamount Institute. Summer Camps are listed below: Creek Connections CampGrades 6-8 gradersDates: TBA Time 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Cost $150 A weeklong opportunity to explore the topic of water. The participants are the field scientist. Hands-on, field-based exploration of topics related to watershed health. Participants develop in a service learning project that cleans up our watershed. Students will walk away with the knowledge and desire to be a water-wise steward. Drop off and pick up will be at the Beidleman Environmental Center. Peak Mountain Dyslexia CampAges 11-17Dates: TBA residential camp at the Catamount Mountain Site Cost $2495 Catamount Institute has partnered with The Dyslexia Center to create a state-of-the-art dyslexia camp for children between the ages of 11 and 17. The camp will provide academic instruction such as, study skills, reading comprehension, writing, and independent projects…without the typical classroom feel. For example, reading comprehension will be taught outside on Raspberry Mountain. Other activities will include wilderness survival skills, fishing, hiking, outdoor art, and team building through rope courses. Wild about Wilderness CampGrades: 4-6Dates: July 14-18 Times: 9-4 p.m. Cost: $170 Discover the wilderness first hand! Wild about Wilderness is a perfect camp opportunity for those who love to be outdoors exploring nature. Each day offers fun activities from rock climbing to “behind the scenes” visits to the zoo. Let your love of nature run wild and express your creativity in ways you never imagined. The Bug’s Life Pre-school Adventure CampAges: 3-5 years old*Dates: June 23-27 Times: 9-noon Cost: $100 Get ready for a week of creepy crawly fun. Explore different types of bugs through exploration, creature activities, and the creation of butterfly gardens. Walk away with a new outlook on the little things in life…BUGS! *All participants must be potty-trained and diaper free. |
